Retirement Planning

The value of pensions and investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.

We believe that working hard throughout your life should be rewarded by financial freedom when you retire.   On average, you can expect to live between 20 and 25 years after your retirement.   Your income level during this period will be the sum of any basic state pension, plus any benefits from an employer pension scheme, plus personal benefits built up by yourself.   Effective plans made now will ensure you have the financial means to enjoy not endure your retirement years.

Do I need to review my retirement planning?   If you don't know the answer to any of the following questions then you should be considering a financial planning review.

  • What are my objectives and am I contributing enough to meet my targets?
  • What fees am I being charged?
  • Will any changes in my personal life affect my pension arrangements?
  • How are my assets invested?
  • Is my fund being managed actively or passively?
  • How are my investments performing?
  • Are there any guaranteed annuity rates attached or other benefits?
  • What income will my pension be able to provide when I retire?
  • What age will I be able to afford to retire?
  • How will I draw an income at retirement?

As well as providing schemes for directors and employee groups, we can also guide you through issues surrounding individual pensions.   This includes the new drawdown alternative to annuities, which can be very attractive to those with larger pension plans.
