Neil started his career with Britannic Assurance plc providing tailored financial planning advice to personal clients, helping build and protect their wealth for the benefit of their families. In the late 1990's he took a position as a Financial Planning Manager for HSBC Bank PLC. Throughout the 15 years Neil worked at HSBC he provided advice to both commercial and personal clients through the branch network and commercial centres.
Neil's skills and knowledge allowed him to progress to regional management level within HSBC bank, managing teams of independent and restricted commercial financial planning advisers across the Midlands. This role involved providing coaching, technical expertise and regulatory risk management, whilst being accountable for the operational and professional standards of his people.
The changing business environment presented Neil and his colleagues with an exciting opportunity in the summer of 2013, when HSBC bank decided to withdraw its service of providing face to face holistic financial planning to its commercial customers. Neil took the opportunity to leave HSBC bank after 15 years and along with his HSBC colleague Michael Speakman formed HFB Financial Planning Ltd.
HFB Financial Planning aims to provide Holistic financial planning advice to both Families and Businesses.
Neil is a professionally qualified financial adviser with a successful background of both providing financial planning advice to clients and leading and motivating teams in a fast paced regulated environment. Neil is a qualified ‘Pension Transfer Specialist’ and is fully authorised to provide advice on Defined Benefit Pension transfers. He is enthusiastic and has strong communication and relationship building skills with a well-balanced attitude to both work and life. He believes in core values of honesty and integrity in all relationships and these ethics are at the heart of HFB Financial Planning Ltd.
Outside of work...
Neil has played competitive Water Polo for the last 35 years, playing for both Rotherham and South Derbyshire and despite his advancing years and sporting injuries, continues to do so. Neil also enjoys snowboarding, open water swimming , travelling and spending time with his wife and children.
