Realising that his calling in life was to help people achieve their financial goals, in early 2003 Richard decided to join HSBC Bank plc as a Financial Planning Manager. He spent the first 3 years in two of HSBC's flagship retail branches, advising clients on their personal financial planning needs using a focused holistic approach. He quickly built a fantastic reputation as a top performing adviser who put his clients at the heart of everything he did. In late 2006 Richard accepted an invitation to join HSBC's Commercial Financial Advisory business and based himself in Northamptonshire. Over the next 7 years he continued to build upon his skill set and became a trusted adviser to many businesses and business owners.
He is passionate about building long term relationships based on trust and respect and acts with honesty and integrity in everything he does. He is QCF level 4 qualified and will be enhancing his professional qualifications further as he moves towards Chartered status. Financial planning is a very complex area and with an ever-changing landscape Richard believes it is crucial to provide not only outstanding financial advice but exceptional ongoing customer service that is tailored to each client's individual needs.
In the summer of 2013, HSBC Bank made the decision to withdraw its service of providing face to face holistic financial advice to its commercial and corporate clients. Richard took the opportunity to leave the bank after 10 years and join some of his HSBC colleagues as one of the Primary Members of the financial adviser team at HFB Financial Planning Ltd. He has office at the Wolston Priory, which is lovely grade II listed building set in the Warwickshire countryside and welcomes client visits.
Outside work you're mostly likely to find Richard on a golf course. He's been a member of Hearsall Golf Club in Coventry for over 30 years and maintains an 8 handicap. In 2009 he achieved a lifelong ambition of making a hole in one and was lucky enough to have a second one in 2018.
